Up and Running

We’re finally officially up and running! This week was spent working on digital downloads for the shop, and setting up my stream.

I ran my first stream on Tuesday, I streamed a T1 nodewar on Black Desert Online. Unfortunately the first stream is never without hiccups, and my mic was not working, I had issues with StreamLabs not wanting to login to my account and I was almost late going live due to it. I then streamed Art and Part 1 of The Witcher 3 (on YouTube if you missed it!) on Friday for several hours, which went really smoothly and worked well despite the game crashing once. I’ll also be streaming on Sunday.

I also got the rest of Discord setup! Adjusted the channels and their permissions, added in notifications for Twitch livestreams and YouTube videos, and even got my first emote re-do finished! I’m rebranding my emotes to be a girl instead of a cat - I feel like most people would prefer a person over a cat. A little more relatable, which is what emotes are supposed to do. I could still use more work and experience, but that will come overtime.

Unfortunately I didn’t have enough time to do the Daughter of Bones prototype. I really think it was more important that I set up the fundamentals for success with the Discord server and getting livestreams started again.

Also Unity 2022 LTS came out this week! I’ve downloaded it and updated my projects as well.

Next Week Goals

  1. Really focus on the Daughter of Bones prototype. Not coding is no good, especially when my own time is the only time I have to code. I barely have time for myself the last couple of weeks but I’ll make sure I’ll find time somewhere.

  2. Continue with digital products to sell. I’ve been aiming for 1 per day, which isn’t that bad. But it does eat up a fair chunk of time to do one full zip file filled with goodies. Not to mention then I have to do the ReadMe, the License, and then images to put up on my shop instead of just copying and pasting the files themselves.

  3. Keep on my stream schedule. I wasn’t able to stream on Wednesday last week, due to getting home nearly 2 hours later than what I wanted. It’s really important that I keep a consistent stream schedule so people can come back continuously.

See you all next week for my next blog post!
